A: The Society of Women Engineers is a non-profit educational and service organization of graduate engineers and women and men with equivalent engineering experience. SWE was founded in 1950 and incorporated in 1952. The headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois and currently there are over 15,000 members in 85 sections and 285 student sections.

A: Even though women at Capitol seems to be an endangered species, it is important the women who wish to pursue any technological field should have a forum to discuss anything and everything they will face. SWE offers a sorority like environment for the women on campus as well providing moral support and fun.

A: Any major can join the field, but if you decided to end your membership, some majors like MIT and SIA might not be allowed to join.
